JOE DOES STUFF WITH INFORMATION.

I'm an educator and designer focused on using creative technologies to develop new pathways for learning - emphasizing connectivity, engagement, and interactivity. I received my MLIS graduate degree from the University of Washington in 2024, with a concentration in Instructional Design & Educational Technology. I was born and raised in the ancestral lands of the Duwamish people, namely Seattle, WA, and UW was where I previously received my undergraduate degree in English and Media Studies in 2022.

Some of my other interests include music (including creating mashups and Spotify playlists),
movies, board games, video games, watching Dropout shows (alongside comedy in general), 2000s culture and technology (hence the website's design), and making Photoshop collages that combine literally any of those other interests.

Inspired by all kinds of websites, blogs, and YouTube creators, I started creating online media in middle school and never really stopped. Thanks to IRL friend groups and various online forums, the Internet has always been a safe space for me to be creative in a way that's free of others' judgment - I have found and built communities where I can share the things that bring me joy, a mindset that I look to bring to the education field.

I play the guitar and bass guitar, and love writing silly little songs no one will hear as well as discovering new music!

Some of my favorite bands include Depeche Mode, Green Day, AFI, Paramore, Death Grips, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Kate Bush, MF DOOM, The Strokes, My Chemical Romance, and The Cure.
