Rulette ScholComms Course Misinfo Play Pack Storytelling Fellows Baloney Detectives SPL Data Viz DL: Home Edition

๐ŸŒ€ It's time to...SPIN! THAT! WHEEL!!!

Rulette is a challenge-based game inspired by the game of the same name from Dropout's comedy game show Game Changer.

It is hosted on Vercel and built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript's d3 library.

๐Ÿ“ Introduction to Scholarly Communication is an eLearning course created with Articulate Rise introducing the scholarly publishing environment - including Open Access, copyright, and research impact - to graduate students.

The goal is to centralize learning resources about academic publishing, so that students can feel a sense of agency over their work.

๐ŸŽฎ The Misinformation Play Pack was my capstone project for my Master's in Library & Information Science.

It is a set of learning games designed to teach K-12 students about misinformation. Prioritizing interactive learning and backwards design, my team created a more inclusive and engaging educational solution for information literacy.

I focused on designing lesson plans and presentations & graphics for the project, and later presented it at the Washington Library Association's 2025 conference.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ In graduate school, I served on the teaching team for Digital Storytelling Fellows, a series of fully free library workshops teaching about podcasting, web design, and video production.

As a graduate assistant, my duties outside of teaching included designing lesson plans, writing documentation on our WordPress site, and designing flyers and social media posts.

This is a project that taught me a lot about how to be a supportive teacher and mentor, and how creative technologies can intersect with library services, both of which I will always cherish.

๐Ÿ“€ Portfolio Productionsโ€™ Digital Asset Library (DAL) is a media library with over 50 years of photo & video footage across various formats from an independent Portland producer. I am the librarian of the DAL, developing the process for ongoing library management and keeping updated the database of all library assets. I also do the archival work of curating, scanning (negative film, slides, prints), and photo post-production.

*Due to confidentiality, please reach out for DAL samples incl. database structure and photo retouching examples

๐Ÿ”ฎ Draw 1 Card is a web app for daily digital tarot readings built on Glitch with HTML, CSS & Javascript.

๐Ÿ” Baloney Detectives is a "choose your own adventure" game themed after health misinformation on social media, created alongside 3 of my friends for our Master's course in Design Methods.

It was built with Twine and hosted on itch.io. I also did a lot of graphic design on Photoshop for this game.

๐Ÿ“ˆ As the final project for my Data Visualization class, I chose to investigate the Seattle Open Data Portal's dataset of Seattle Public Library checkouts of the work of James Baldwin, connecting his quotations in the Black Lives Matter movement and public protests of the murders of Trayvon Martin, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor.

The resulting artifact was a data story published to a WordPress site answering these questions, with interactive data visualizations created using R's Plotly library.

๐Ÿท I'm a big fan of social deduction games, as well as panel shows, so when the Internet comedy group Dropout (previously known as CollegeHumor) released Dirty Laundry, a hybrid of both, I got into it immediately.

During my senior year of college, my friends and I put on a home game based on the show, and I designed a PowerPoint template emulating the show's aesthetic and graphics.
